FAQ

We know how important it is for families to find the trainer to work with their pup – they’re family after all. We want to help make your search easier by providing answers to some of our frequently asked questions.

Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. You can pay a deposit to reserve training with the balanced due at training start.

What tools do you use?
We assess each dog to figure out which tool is best for each individual dog. The common tools we use are: Marker words, food, treats, toys, a leash, regular flat collar buckle, martingale collar, slip lead, prong collars, remote collars, crates, pet cots, treadmills.

Is your training right for my dog if they have issues like anxiety and fear?
Yes. Most nervous dogs are nervous because they aren’t getting what they truly need to thrive. Our training helps you, as the dog’s leader, learn how to provide the trust, structure and leadership that they need. Our programs will specifically address things like how to build confidence and how to help your dog relax.

Do you train with treats and food? What about clickers?
We train lots of positive things using food, toys, or just relationship and praise. We believe in adjusting the training program depending on the needs of the dog and the owner. We use the dog’s daily food for reinforcement or treats as needed, as well as a marker word. In short, it depends on the dog, and we will do whatever helps you and your dog find the most success!

Can you stop unwanted behaviors like jumping, pulling while on leash, ignoring commands?
Yes. In addition to training what we want dogs to do, we also need to be able to tell them what we don’t want. Many problem behaviors like those listed above are not difficult to stop, and our programs will address how to effectively tell your dog both yes and no.

My dog has bitten humans or other dogs, can you still help him?
We specialize in helping families with these issues. When you decide you want to work with us, you will fill out a form that tells us about your dog and assesses what you will need in training. With every potential client, we do our best to assess which of our trainers is right for you.

Can we visit our dog during their board and train?
No. Unfortunately due to the fact that our trainers train out of their homes, we respectfully decline any home visits. We do touch base mid-way through training where you will have an opportunity to see your pup. As well as weekly updates.

Can I send both/all of my dogs at once? Will they have the same trainer?
It depends on our current availability and the training each individual dogs needs.

Do you offer a guarantee?
Dog training has a lot of variables, which makes it hard for us to offer a guarantee. A good part of your success will depend on how willing you are to learn and practice and upkeep everything we do in our programs. What we can promise is that our trainers will give you their best to help you succeed, and if you take our suggestions, your life with your dog will get better!
