About Us

K9 Command is a small, veteran-owned dog training company. We will train any dog, regardless of breed, shape, size or history. We are relationship based balanced trainers that understand the importance of developing a unique real world dog training program that brings out each dog’s full potential so that they can be in harmony with their owners each and every day. We are not just focused on teaching your dog obedience commands, but more importantly to make good choices on their own, with you as their leader and guide.

We recognize that each and every dog is a unique individual, and customize our approach accordingly. We believe nurturing a mutually respectful relationship is the bedrock of clear and concise communication with every dog. With this in mind we customize each program to fit the needs of the dog we have before us. We place a strong focus on the mindset of the dog, including confidence building, the relationship between handler and dog, structure, rules and meeting the basic needs of each dog. We believe a strong reward-based approach is imperative to laying a solid foundation. We are balanced trainers. We teach using verbal markers and reward (food/praise/affection), pet convincer, training collars (prong collar, slip collar, starmark, martingale) and remote e-collars, as needed, to make sure the training is reliable in public and around distractions. We never train using force or intimidation. We believe in being as gentle as possible and as assertive as is required to motivate each dog effectively.

Our mission is to enhance the relationship and quality of life between human and dog.

Jevry Denny

Owner, Head Trainer

Jevry is the Founder, Co-Owner, and Head Trainer of K9 Command. Training dogs has been her passion since she was 9yrs old. In her youth, she trained dogs for her neighbors, friends, and family. Jevry served six years in the United States Air Forces working as a Criminal Investigator. During her time in the military she often volunteered at the kennels working with the handlers and military working dogs. At Yokota AB, she helped families train their dogs who were struggling beforehand. Following her military service, Jevry volunteered to foster difficult dogs for a rescue so that they would become adoptable. In 2017 Jevry founded K9 Command and has since worked with hundreds of dogs and their owners.

Jevry has gone through several different dog training seminars, though the most notable would be Jeff Gellman’s 2 Day training seminar and Amy Pishner’s 2 day dog training and rehabilitation seminar. Jevry has also gone through a shadow program with Amy Pishner of Valor K9 Academy.

Kerri McClelland

Training Specialist

Kerri has been involved in the dog community since she was 13 years old. Her journey as a dog trainer began when she started volunteering at an animal shelter in Woodinville. She quickly discovered her passion in dog training and joined PetSmart to pursue that dream. From there she became the regional Area Trainer, and took on many responsibilities as the lead trainer.

She was selected as 1 of 20 Area Trainers to help redesign the puppy and beginner curriculum for all of PetSmart as a company. Knowing that not all dogs learn the same way, she was looking for a more balanced approach for dog training and joined K9 Command! Kerri has played, competed, and titled in many dog sports! Including barn hunt, nosework, and AKC obedience.

She’s dabbled in IGP, treibball, NADAC agility, and NASDA (shed and blood trailing). Her sport work all started with her sweet Labrador Retriever, Diezel RIP. Now Sawyer, her Belgian Malinois, has stepped up to fulfill that role. He has many titles, and is actively still earning many more! She owns many dogs that also compete, including German Shepherds, a Great Dane, and a Labrador Retriever. She specializes in fear rehabilitation, reactivity, pet therapy, service dog training, trick dog titles, and Canine Good Citizen certifications.

Her life is dogs and loves to share her experiences and knowledge. She has attended a few training seminars in the past with, Nicole Wilde, Sue Sternberg, and Jeff Gellman. Her other passions includes photography, bikejoring, and exploring the PNW. Sawyer has been the inspiration for all! She has created quite an influence on instagram, showcasing her and Sawyers skills and abilities.

Allisha Richards

Training Specialist

Allisha got her start in the dog training world with her first dog Khaleesi. Both her and Khaleesi started obedience in group classes at a local pet store. From there, Allisha started to see how much of a passion she had in dog training. As she continued working with Khaleesi, Allisha started to branch out into the dog sport world. They participated in NADAC agility, barn hunt, NASDA tracking/trailing, bikejoring, and shed hunting.

Overtime Allisha and Khaleesi started earning titles in obedience; including CGC, CGCA, CGCU, TKN, & TKI. Khaleesi showed a natural talent as a service dog at a very young age. She began naturally alerting and tasking to Allisha. After realizing how much Allisha benefitted from a service dog, they started the journey into service dog training. Khaleesi thrives with her job as a service dog, and they are continually learning new ways to work as a team.

Samantha Garza

Training Specialist

Samantha has always had a passion to help animals since she was a child. Growing up she always had pets including dogs, cats, rodents, reptiles, and fish! As a kid, she aspired to be a veterinarian and help as many animals as she could.

In the last several years, she has spent most of her time working in restaurants, singing in karaoke competitions, and pet sitting for her friends and coworkers. Samantha didn’t realize her passion for canine obedience until she started walking dogs regularly on Rover when the pandemic started. Wondering if there was more she could do as a dog walker, she began studying canine behavior and dog training methods.

Samantha is a certified dog trainer and graduate with honors in canine obedience from the Animal Behavior College. She also has attended Jeff Gellman’s seminar, and completed several obedience courses from Leerburg University. Additionally, she has studied educational YouTube videos from Jeff Gellman (Solid K9 Training), Natalie Dobkins (Canine Performance/TEAM K9 Training), and Tom Davis (Upstate Canine Academy). Samantha has spent most of 2021 shadowing Jevry and Joshua as their kennel technician, now she is training full-time with K9 Command.
